The Three Types of Window Awnings

Window awnings come in several types. The three most common, however, are retractable awnings, stationary awnings, and basket awnings. Let’s learn a little bit more about each of them below.

 

 

• Retractable awnings: As the name implies, retractable awnings are, well, retractable. They can be pulled back and forth, so they can be stored off to the side when not in use, or when you don’t wish to use them. With a number of great features, these are renowned as particularly user-friendly awnings. Retractable awning frames also need less maintenance than other frames. When choosing a retractable awning, they can be either manual or automatic. While some retractable awnings are controlled by built-in sensors, others can be controlled by a remote.    

• Stationary awnings: Unlike retractable awnings, stationary awnings, as in the name, will not move. If you would like an awning to stay in place indefinitely, go with a stationary awning. Customize your stationary awning, too; in either a classic design or a modern style. With full weather protection, stationary awnings are perhaps the best choice for use as window awnings.  

• Basket awnings: With many options to choose from for basket awnings, there are endless possibilities. You’ll mainly see basket awnings used for cafes, boutiques, and bakeries.
